Every purchase helps preserve the traditional weaving of the Wayuu people, supporting fair wages, education, and sustainable materials.

The Story Behind Mar y Fuego

Every Wayuu weave is a language of color and geometry, each shape holding a story that has been passed from generation to generation. In Desert Mosaic, warm golds and deep reds reflect the arid landscapes of La Guajira, while bold lines echo the strength and resilience of the Wayuu people.

This pair began with a single weaver, crafting the intricate panel on a traditional loom in her home. Each thread was placed by hand, a process that takes days to complete without shortcuts or repetition.

Once the panel was finished, it was brought to our small-batch shoemakers in Colombia, where it was hand-cut into rich leather and stitched into the Bowlero-style tennie. With a cushioned insole and sturdy sole, these shoes are as wearable as they are meaningful.

Your purchase helps sustain Wayuu artisans in Colombia, preserving their cultural heritage and providing fair, sustainable income for their families.

Wear Desert Mosaic, and you carry the artistry and stories of the Wayuu with every step.
